We come to you. Paint correction first — then coating, film, and the original single-stage paint most shops will not touch. Your driveway, our lights.

The difference

Same panel.
Same light bar.

Correction is hard to photograph and easy to fake, so we shoot every car under the same lights before and after. Keep scrolling.

We come to you

Your drivewayis the shop.

Paint correction has always been a fixed-shop service because it needs controlled light, clean water and hours of uninterrupted time. We built the van so it does not need your house for any of that.

The car never leaves you, nobody joyrides it to a unit across town, and you can watch the whole thing from your kitchen window if you want to.

What we bring

  • Generator and inverter — no outdoor socket needed
  • Water tank with a deionised final rinse
  • The same LED light bars every photo here was shot under
  • Canopy for shade, and our own extraction and waste capture

What we need from you

  • A flat driveway, garage or parking space, roughly two car widths
  • Somewhere shaded or enclosed if a coating is going on
  • Keys, and nobody needing to move the car mid-job
  • That is it — no power, no water, no supervision

What we do

Six ways to
keep it perfect.

Correction is the core of the service; everything else exists to protect it or maintain it. We will talk you out of a coating on paint that is not ready for one.

Paint Correction01

Paint Correction

The core of the service.

Multi-stage machine polishing that removes swirls, etching and sanding marks instead of filling them. We read paint depth panel by panel before a pad ever touches the car, then pick the least aggressive combination that actually finishes the defect.

  • One, two & three-stage
  • Wet sanding
  • Depth-gauge documented
Ceramic Coating02

Ceramic Coating

Locks the correction in.

A semi-permanent layer over corrected paint. Keeps the finish from dulling under Houston sun and rain, and makes wash days short enough that you stop re-installing the swirls you just paid to remove.

  • Professional-grade only
  • Over corrected paint only
  • Multi-year
Paint Protection Film03

Paint Protection Film

For the panels that take hits.

Self-healing urethane where the road actually reaches: nose, mirrors, rockers, A-pillars. Computer-cut for the exact model, or bulk-installed with wrapped edges where the pattern falls short of the panel.

  • Self-healing top coat
  • Wrapped edges
Classic & Original Paint04

Classic & Original Paint

Single-stage, lacquer, enamel.

Pre-clearcoat paint behaves nothing like modern basecoat, and it does not grow back. Original single-stage, acrylic lacquer and enamel get read, tested and worked conservatively — often by hand — to bring back depth without spending film you cannot replace.

  • Single-stage & lacquer
  • Oxidation, not originality, removed
  • Hand work where machine is wrong
Window Tint05

Window Tint

Heat and glare, down.

Ceramic film that cuts cabin heat and glare without going purple in two summers. Legal-limit or track-only, cut and heat-shrunk on site.

  • Ceramic IR-blocking
  • No purple fade
  • Windshield options

The maintenance side.

Leather, Alcantara, carpet and trim brought back without silicone shine — plus the wash routine that does not undo the correction you paid for.

Classic & original paint

Before clearcoat, there was nomargin for error.

Single-stage paint has no clear layer to hide behind. What you polish is the colour itself, and on a car from the sixties there may be less than 3 mils of it left over primer that will never be original again once it is gone.

So we start with a gauge and a test spot, not a compound. Acrylic lacquer, nitrocellulose and enamel each break down differently, and oxidation, die-back and checking all want different answers — sometimes a machine, often a hand pad, occasionally the answer that the paint should be left alone.

We read the paint first

Depth readings across every panel, logged. On original paint the number decides the process, not the other way round.

Oxidation off, originality on

The goal is depth and colour back, with the car still wearing the paint it left the factory in. Patina that is worth keeping, we keep.

Hand work where machines are wrong

Thin edges, hand-painted coachlines, delicate trim and repaired sections get finished by hand rather than risked under a rotary.

Protection that suits the era

Coatings and film are options, not defaults. On a concours or a documented survivor we will talk through what changes the car and what does not.

Got something original and are not sure whether it should be polished at all? That is the right question, and the one we would rather answer before you book anything.

We bring the light bar to you.

How it goes

Four steps.
No shortcuts.

Most of what separates a good correction from a bad one happens before the polisher comes out.

  1. 01

    We arrive and set up

The van carries its own power, water and lighting, so nothing is asked of your house. Twenty minutes to set up in your driveway or garage and we are working.

  2. 02

    Walkaround under the light bar

Before anything touches the car we roll the lights in and read it with you standing there: paint depth panel by panel, every defect logged. You see what we found before we quote the work.

  3. 03

    Decontamination

Chemical and mechanical decon strips the bonded contaminants a wash leaves behind — the step most shops skip and every correction depends on.

  4. 04

    Correction

Test spot first, then a pad and compound chosen for that specific clearcoat. Refined until the light bar shows nothing but the light bar.

  5. 05

    Protection, then we pack up

Coating or film goes on corrected paint only, and wants a garage or covered space to flash. Final inspection under the same lights, then the driveway looks like we were never there.

Who we are

Enthusiasts
with a light bar.

Spectrum Auto Salon is a mobile paint-correction service based in Houston. No unit to drop the car at and no queue to wait in — the lights, the water and the power arrive on your driveway and leave with us.

Everything on this site is a car we worked on: Ferraris and Skylines, a 356 and a G-Wagon, plenty of daily drivers in between. Modern clearcoat and sixties single-stage get the same first step — read the paint, then decide — which is why we are comfortable with both.
